Red deer are majestic and iconic members of the deer family, known for their impressive antlers and rich reddish-brown coats.
They inhabit a variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and mountainous regions, where they graze on a diverse diet of grasses, herbs, and shrubs. Red deer live in social groups, with males (stags) establishing dominance hierarchies during the breeding season, known as the rut, when they compete for access to females (hinds).
