Kids Country

Kids Country was held at the East of England Showground last Friday (30th June 2017) and had seven thousand children attend the Food & Farming Day this year. Johnsons took their hand reared red deer and showed how the meat was butchered and what it tasted like when it was cooked.

What a day it was! The weather was on our side, the event reached 7000 children from seven counties and London this year. Some 69 schools where present, coming together to learn where their food comes from, the importance of agriculture and our countryside.

What an amazing fun and hands on experience for both staff and children! Meeting real people who are in the field of food and farming, spending time and learning from the experts, looking and tasting British grown snacks and foods, watching a sheep show and learning how sheep’s are sheared, importance and how to grow our own food , the African village , information on farming in Africa and much, much more.
